Questions
Does CurrentCert work for EMT-B?
Yes. EMT-B is the older name for the EMT level; the National Registry and most states now call it EMT. CurrentCert recognizes NREMT EMT and state EMT certifications, and any older card can be added manually with its dates.
Do I need to be National Registry certified to use it?
No. Some states require current NREMT to renew, some treat it as one pathway, and some run their own. CurrentCert tracks whatever you hold: a state-only EMT certification, an NREMT card, or both, each with its own expiration.
How many CE hours does an EMT need for NREMT recertification?
40 hours every two years under the 2025 NCCP model: 20 National, 10 Local or State and 10 Individual. The education deadline is March 31 and the recertification fee is $25. CurrentCert shows how far along you are toward each component.
