How do you renew an EMS certification in Utah?
Utah requires NREMT and incorporates the NREMT EMS Recertification Guide (2024) by reference, so the totals are 16, 40, 50 and 60 hours every two years, expiring March 31. Bureau-approved CPR is required at every level, a pediatric course for AEMTs and paramedics, and ACLS for paramedics. The rule is Utah Admin. Code R911-5-204, effective July 10, 2025.
