How do you renew an EMS certification in South Carolina?

South Carolina requires current NREMT to renew, every two years, following the NCCP model of 16, 40, 50 and 60 hours per the SC CE Program Manual of December 2024. A third-party claim of 24 hours per two years for paramedics contradicts the DPH manual; DPH is the authority.

How this relates to NREMT

South Carolina requires you to hold current National Registry certification, so the NREMT cycle drives your renewal. See the NREMT requirements by level.
