How do you renew an EMS certification in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania splits its cycle by level: EMRs and EMTs recertify every three years, AEMTs and paramedics every two. The hours are EMR 16, EMT 24, AEMT 36 and paramedic 36, with a minimum share in clinical patient care (12 of 16, 18 of 24, and 27 of 36 respectively). CPR is a separate mandatory requirement that earns no CE credit, and a course counts only once per cycle. Pennsylvania also has its own EMS Vehicle Operator credential.
