How do you renew an EMS certification in North Carolina?
North Carolina lets you renew with current NREMT under the NCCP model, or through the state continuing-education path over a four-year credential period. On the state path the totals are 32 hours for EMR, 80 for EMT, 100 for AEMT and 120 for paramedic, made up of a national and local block of 24, 60, 75 and 90 plus an individual block of 8, 20, 25 and 30. Skills competencies are recorded in the Continuum system within 90 days of expiration.
