How do you renew an EMS certification in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts renews EMS certifications every two years using NREMT.org training profiles and the NCCP model: EMT 40 hours, AEMT 50 and paramedic 60, with no limit on online education. A training officer signs off at every level and a medical director at advanced levels. For the 2026 cycle the window opened October 1, 2025, CE and applications were due March 31, 2026, and late fees of $50 to NREMT plus $50 to Massachusetts applied through April 30, 2026.
