How do you renew an EMS certification in Maine?
Maine runs an independent two-year cycle. For renewals on or after November 1, 2023, Maine EMS Rules Chapter 5 sets the hours to match NCCP: 16 for EMR, 40 for EMT, 50 for AEMT and 60 for paramedic, each split between national, local and individual components. The older 32, 52, 56 and 72 hour figures are a legacy block still printed in the rule but no longer governing. Online education may count toward all of the hours.
