How do you renew an EMS certification in Florida?
Florida EMTs and paramedics renew every two years, with certificates expiring on December 1 of the expiration year. You can renew with current NREMT or on the state path, which for paramedics is a 30-hour refresher including at least 2 hours of pediatric emergencies plus a current ACLS card, and for EMTs a 30-hour refresher including 2 pediatric hours plus current CPR. Renewal fees are set in statute: $20 for EMTs and $45 for paramedics per cycle.
