How do you renew an EMS certification in Delaware?
Delaware requires NREMT at both levels. EMT certification, issued by the State Fire Prevention Commission, is valid two years and renews with a renewed National Registry card, a Delaware State Fire School EMT refresher class and a current CPR card; the state sets no separate hour count. Paramedics, licensed by the Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline, renew every two years with current NREMT paramedic registration, a 48-hour refresher, 24 hours of CME, and current CPR, ACLS, PALS and PHTLS or BTLS.
