How do you renew an EMS certification in Colorado?
Colorado EMS certifications renew every three years through CDPHE, which accepts current NREMT as proof of both CE and skills. On the state path an EMR needs 12 hours, an EMT 36, an AEMT 36 and an EMT-Intermediate 99 or paramedic 50, with skills verified by a Colorado-recognized education program. There is no grace beyond six months: more than six months expired means applying as a first-time provider unless you hold NREMT.
